A New Day
Here, it is before you, a new day. A day unknown in its full content, as to whether it will be busy or quiet, or eventful in its demands or docile as it passes into a yesterday . A day unknown in its physical dimensions and qualities as to whether it will be cloudy, rainy, windy or calm. A day unknown in whether it will be memorable or forgetful in its significance. A day that will be full or empty in its demands and activity.
Here, it is before you, a new day. Do you consider this new day, a gift? It is yours, but will you take time to be thankful to the Creator and Giver of this new day, will you take a moment to see its preciousness in the scope of the number of your days on this earth or even contemplate that this new day is full of potential to share with another. Not one of us, as human beings, know the the number of gifted days we will have before us. We take for granted this new day, thinking we will given many more but we truly do not know. We need to be careful not to be apathetic and unappreciative in the days we are given. Instead we need to be thankful for each new day … filling each one up with attention, gratitude, and thankfulness while fully giving and loving those around you.
See and truly appreciate that this new day comes freely out of the endless grace from our God in His gift of His Son to be our Savior and Shepherd. He makes this new day and He gives it to us. We can fully rejoice and be glad this new day and every day before us. This new day is yours … and what will it become, remains in the choices, attitudes and actions you make and what you do with them. What will this new day, become?
This is the LORD’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:23-24).
